Coronial Equity Alliance Charitable Trust (CEA) is a registered Not -For-Profit organisation focused on misclassified male reportable deaths, coronial systems, and systemic reform within Queensland.
CEA was established in response to the growing number of Queenslanders reporting concerns surrounding the investigation potentially resulting in the misclassification of males who are said to have taken their lives by their own hand.
We exist to support our families journey through the coronial process, address and identify gaps, systemic barriers and practical limitations many Queenslanders encounter when navigating these processes.
Coronial Equity Alliance exists to support families, friends and loved ones through the coronial process following the death of a male reported, recorded or found as suicide. Through compassionate guidance, structured case review, evidence-based analysis, expert collaboration and informed advocacy, CEA seeks to identify investigative gaps, potential misclassification, systemic barriers and opportunities for coronial and forensic reform, while respecting the dignity of the person who died, the wellbeing of those affected, and the integrity of official processes.
CEA’s vision is for a coronial system in which every family, friend and loved one is heard, every death is examined with care, and every concern about suicide misclassification, investigative deficiency or systemic failure is treated with fairness, transparency and accountability. Through independent review, multidisciplinary collaboration, research, advocacy and public awareness, CEA aims to contribute to a more compassionate, accurate and trustworthy system of coronial justice across Queensland.
Coronial Equity Alliance exists to relieve the significant distress, confusion, helplessness , and disadvantages experienced by families following the passing of a male loved one reported as self-inflicted death, or where the circumstances remain in dispute. Each year, hundreds of Queensland families are left to navigate complex coronial, police, legal, and administrative systems while grieving, often without the knowledge, resources, financial means, or specialist support needed to effectively understand and participate in those processes. We provide practical and immediate relief through information, advocacy, case review, helping families better understand the circumstances surrounding a loss and engage more effectively with relevant agencies through a more nuanced lens. By reducing isolation, uncertainty, and barriers to participation, we assist a disadvantaged group of people during a period of acute vulnerability, hardship, and emotional distress.

CEA reviews each case individually to assess what professional or expert assistance may be required. Donations and organisational funding assist in supporting case reviews, expert engagement, evidence analysis, and the ongoing development of advocacy and assessment resources for members.
We believe that careful, structured, and professional case review contributes to greater awareness, more nuanced investigative practices, and the long-term prevention of future deaths.
The privacy and confidentiality of our beneficiaries and committee members is a priority. As a registered Not -For-Profit organisation, CEA is committed to developing secure systems and responsible information handling practices to protect sensitive case material and member information.
