Coronial Equity Alliance has been established to assist those affected by the sudden loss of a male loved one where questions, concerns or uncertainty remain surrounding the circumstances of a matter.

Our aggrieved members

Find themselves navigating systems and processes they never expected to encounter. Questions can remain unanswered and concerns can continue to grow over time.
For many of our members , access to lawyers, independent experts and professional assistance can be financially out of reach and simply unachievable. Others may find themselves trying to obtain records, understand unfamiliar processes, prepare submissions, or determine what options may be available at different stages of a matter.

Over Time

Our aggrieved applicants find themselves collecting large amounts of information — emails, reports, records, correspondence, notes and other material gathered over months and sometimes years.
As information continues to grow, the process can become overwhelming and exhausting. It can become difficult to know where information fits, what may be important, or how separate concerns connect together as part of a larger picture.

Part of the Purpose of Coronial Equity Alliance

Is to assist in bringing information together in a structured and meaningful way and to consider material within the broader context of a matter rather than as separate and isolated pieces of information.
This allows information, concerns and supporting material to be reviewed as a whole, providing a clearer and more cohesive understanding of the matter.

Depending on the stage and circumstances of a matter

Coronial Equity Alliance may assist with reviewing information and concerns raised, assisting with preparation of effective Right to Information applications and supporting documentation, assisting with preparation of structured submissions and supporting material, assisting with submissions to a Coroner where appropriate, including matters relating to requests for an inquest, assisting with compiling a comprehensive review report where appropriate, engaging experts and legal professionals where appropriate and where resources permit, and assisting people in understanding available pathways and options relevant to their circumstances.

That Coronial Equity Alliance is unable to accept matters where there is an active police investigation currently underway.
Applications are individually assessed according to Coronial Equity Alliance processes, scope and available resources. Where a matter cannot proceed at a particular stage, information may still be retained and reconsidered at a later time where appropriate.

The application process

Our application form has been designed to help us understand your circumstances and determine whether your matter falls within the scope of our services. The more information you provide, the better equipped we are to assess your application.
Fields marked with an asterisk (*) are mandatory and must be completed before submission.
Once submitted, your application will progress through the following stages:
Intake Review – We review your application and supporting information.
Assessment – We assess the information provided and may contact you if further information is required. Applications are considered as part of our monthly advisory committee review process. Your matter may be accepted for further consideration, require additional information, or be determined to be outside the scope of our services.
Please note that submission of an application does not guarantee acceptance.

Once submitted

A secure case file will automatically be created within our system and allocated a unique case number. This case number becomes your reference point for future communication and allows you to securely return to your portal to upload additional information, documents and supporting material as it becomes available.

We recognise that people entrust us with highly personal, sensitive and often deeply important and personal information. Protecting that information is fundamental to our responsibilities and to the trust placed in us.

Our systems and processes

Have been designed with security and confidentiality in mind to help safeguard information shared through the portal.
The Secure Client Portal remains available for the life of your matter and uses multi-factor authentication security measures to help protect information and case material.

How The Portal Works

Applicants create their own secure username and password, with an additional verification code sent to your nominated mobile phone for authentication purposes.

Before Submitting an Application

You will be required to read and accept Coronial Equity Alliance disclosure statements, confidentiality requirements, consent documents, privacy information, terms and conditions, and any other relevant application documents.
These documents form part of the application process and must be read and accepted by the applicant before an application can be submitted.
Copies may be downloaded, printed or retained for your own records.
Information shared through the portal is managed securely and handled with care, confidentiality and respect.
