CEA is establishing a forensic expert network to support retrospective review work in suspected misclassified male suicides in Queensland.

We are seeking suitably qualified forensic experts, forensic practices, laboratories, consultancies, and independent specialists who are interested in being considered for case-specific review work through CEA.

CEA welcomes forensic expertise across any discipline that can assist with retrospective death review, evidence assessment, specialist interpretation, technical analysis, or forensic reporting in suspected misclassified male suicides.

Review Pathway

Before a matter is forwarded for forensic review, it is assessed by CEA and considered by CEA’s Expert Advisory Committee.

The committee considers whether forensic input is required and assists in identifying the appropriate forensic discipline.

Once a matter is approved for forensic review, CEA collates the relevant material, considers conflicts, and prepares a clear scope of work before contacting a suitable forensic expert.

Engagement and Scope

Forensic Expert Members are engaged or contracted through CEA on agreed terms.

Registration is an expression of interest only. Each invitation to review a matter can be considered according to your discipline, availability, conflict position, and preferred engagement terms.

Before work begins, the scope, instructions, fees, timeframes, material access, and reporting expectations are confirmed.

Secure Review Process

CEA handles case material through structured internal systems designed to support privacy, confidentiality, document control, and proper case management.

Reviewer access is managed according to the scope of each engagement. Relevant material is organised, recorded, and provided through CEA’s review process so each expert receives the material required for their role.

CEA maintains clear records of instructions, material provided, reviewer engagement, reports, referrals, and next steps.

Professional Partnership

Partnering with CEA creates a standing professional relationship with a defined forensic review pathway.

CEA brings together the family material, case history, Expert Advisory Committee process, secure systems, and engagement pathway. Forensic Expert Members bring the specialist knowledge required to assess matters within their discipline.

Where a matter falls within an established Expert Member’s discipline and availability, CEA will look to its forensic expert network first.

With approval, CEA can acknowledge forensic practices, laboratories, consultancies, or professional services on CEA’s Partner page. This can include the organisation’s name, logo, and relevant forensic discipline.

Forensic Expert Members are engaged for their professional judgment, independence, and specialist knowledge.

Each engagement is guided by clear instructions, organised material, confidentiality, and respect for the expert’s forensic discipline.

CEA values careful, independent forensic review that assists the organisation to understand the material properly and determine the appropriate next step.
