Approximately 600 men each year pass in circumstances that are ultimately classified as suicide in Queensland.
Coronial Equity Alliance exists to review alleged misclassified male suicides and to advocate for greater accountability, transparency, and confidence in the systems responsible for investigating these passings.
While our work centres on the review of these cases, we are continually reminded that every alleged male suicide extends far beyond the individual.
It is widely reported that every death classified as suicide directly and indirectly affects approximately 240 people.
The mathematics is sobering
Based on current Queensland figures, this equates to approximately 144,000 people being directly or indirectly affected each year by a death classified as suicide.
Many people affected by these passings find themselves seeking professional assistance.
Some require access to healthcare professionals. Others seek counselling, psychological services, or legal advice.
Yet at the very time assistance may be needed most, many people are already emotionally exhausted and overwhelmed by the practical realities they face.
For this reason, Coronial Equity Alliance is establishing a Practitioner Network.
The purpose of this network is to improve accessibility to professional services and create trusted referral pathways for CEA members and their families when those services are needed.

Practitioners who join the network remain entirely independent within their own professional practice while becoming part of a broader multidisciplinary network committed to improving accessibility and reducing barriers for Queensland families affected by an alleged male suicide.
What Participation Means
Participation within the CEA Practitioner Network is entirely voluntary.
Practitioners retain complete professional independence and clinical discretion at all times.
The network is intended to assist families in identifying and accessing professional services when required, while also providing participating practitioners with the opportunity to become part of a recognised statewide referral network.
Participating practitioners may be recognised on the CEA website, included within our Practitioner Directory, and identified as CEA Practitioner Partners.
